The Hangar extends out past the engine box. On completion, it will have a clamshell door that can open and close. It can be used as a bay for smaller craft, or it can be used for meetings and parties. It can also be used to work on anything too big for the Laboratory.

Like any large vessel, the Helios needs a lot of power. Avionics, hydraulics, hangar doors, airlocks, telecommunications, weapons, and other systems sink a lot of amperage. In addition, the ship will hover several tens of meters in the air more or less all the time, so providing ample power to shipboard propulsion systems is a must.
