It is also possible to *hike* to the top of the toll road but it's an all-day event that most people are not physically capable of making.

From the top of the mountain, one can see all the way out to the ocean. Everything from San Onofre (near San Diego) to northern parts of Los Angeles County can be seen. That's over 150 miles!
